The Sub-directorate General for Better Regulation, Support for Business and Competition carries out its activity both at national and international level, within the Directorate General for Economic Policy, under the State Secretariat for Economy and Business Support.

It performs other important functions related to better economic regulation; the reduction of barriers and obstacles to the market unity, as well as other functions in matters such as EU Single Market, competition law and State aid. It is also responsible for the Secretariat ​for the Market Unity, according to the Law 20/2013, of December 9^th.
