​​The Directorate General for Macroeconomic Analysis has as its main functions: the analysis and projection of the conjuncture and trends of the Spanish economy, paying special attention to its imbalances and macroeconomic challenges. It also involves analysing, simulating and evaluating the impact of public policy measures, conducting statistical operations assigned by the National Statistics Plan, engaging with other organizations and representing Spain in relation to the mentioned functions. The contents developed in the course of these functions are compiled in this part of the Ministry's website.​​
