Academic background

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 1997.
• Specialization in Business Law from Universidad San Pablo CEU, 1998.
• Registered auditor in the Official Register of Auditors.
• Civil servant of the High Corps of State Insurance Inspectors since 2004.

Professional experience

• General Director of Insurance and Pension Funds since May 2024.
• Deputy General Director of Inspection at the General Directorate of Insurance and Pension Funds from March 2017 until May 2024.
• Member of the Board of Directors and member of the Audit Committee of the “Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros” from May 2017 until May 2024.
• Member of the Insurance Advisory Board from March 2017 until May 2024.
• Head of the Department of Balance Sheet Analysis, Accounting and Statistics at the General Inspection Subdirectorate from December 2013 until March 2017.
• Inspector in the General Inspection Subdirectorate at the General Directorate of Insurance and Pension Funds from January 2004 until December 2013.
• He has participated in various groups, forums and international meetings at management level related to the supervisory and accounting activity of the Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Funds such as those corresponding to the European Insurance and Pension Supervisor (EIOPA), International Monetary Fund (IMF) among others, from January 2004 onwards.
• He has held other positions during these years such as Chairman of “Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros”, Chairman of the Insurance and Pension Funds Advisory Board, Chairman of the Monitoring Committee of the system for the valuation of damages caused to persons in traffic accidents, Chairman of the Technical Commission for the analysis of the hypotheses, member of the Board of Supervisors of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) and member of the Macroprudential Authority Financial Stability Board.
